Logistics Navigation: Amazon India Drops Google Maps in Favor of MapmyIndia

Amazon India Partners with CE Info Systems for Map Data

Amazon India has announced a transition of its logistics, warehousing, and last-mile delivery fleet navigation systems from Google Maps to domestic digital mapping provider MapmyIndia (CE Info Systems). The shift applies to Amazon’s e-commerce deliveries, as well as its quick commerce and fresh grocery delivery fleets across Indian metro areas.

The partnership is expected to lower mapping licensing costs for Amazon India while providing access to localized address data, which MapmyIndia has compiled over decades. The domestic provider’s database offers high-resolution mapping data for narrow streets, gated communities, and regional landmarks in India, which is critical for optimizing last-mile delivery times.

MapmyIndia Stock Rallies on Logistics Integration

Following the announcement, shares of CE Info Systems rallied on the stock exchanges, reflecting investor optimism regarding the corporate integration. MapmyIndia has been expanding its enterprise client base, signing licensing agreements with automotive manufacturers, defense entities, and e-commerce platforms. Amazon India stated that the navigation switch will roll out across its driver application network over the coming weeks, improving route planning efficiency.
