High-Tech & Renewable Capital Outlays Accelerate India’s Industrial Growth

India’s technology and energy infrastructure sectors have received a massive double boost with major investment announcements totaling over ₹22,700 crore by HCL Technologies and Adani Energy Solutions Limited (AESL). The multi-billion-rupee capital deployments reflect surging national demand for high-performance artificial intelligence compute capacity alongside green energy transmission infrastructure supporting India’s 2030 net-zero targets.

Leading Indian IT services titan HCLTech announced a commitment of ₹14,257 crore to establish its flagship AI Data Center at the newly designated Odisha Sovereign AI Park. Developed in strategic collaboration with Indian AI startup Sarvam and the Government of Odisha, the state-of-the-art compute hub will house advanced GPU clusters designed to train localized foundation models and power sector-specific AI applications for enterprise and governance workloads.

Odisha AI Park and Global Technology Center Expansion

In addition to the AI Data Center facility, HCLTech confirmed plans to construct a separate 5,000-seat Global Technology Center in Bhubaneswar, slated for full operational commissioning by 2028. The initiative positions Odisha as a premier technology destination on India’s eastern coast, attracting top-tier engineering talent and establishing sovereign data center capacity resilient against global supply disruptions.

Simultaneously, Adani Energy Solutions Limited (AESL) secured a landmark inter-state transmission system (ISTS) contract valued at approximately ₹8,500 crore. Titled the “Green Hydrogen / Green Ammonia Vizag Transmission Project (Phase-I)”, the infrastructure development is engineered to supply 4,500 MW of clean power to upcoming green hydrogen and chemical export hubs in the Visakhapatnam industrial corridor of Andhra Pradesh.

Building Heavy GIS Substations and 1,582 Circuit-Kilometers of Lines

The AESL infrastructure project encompasses building two massive Gas-Insulated Substations (GIS) at Pendurthi and Khammam-II, adding 1,582 circuit-kilometers (ckm) of high-voltage transmission lines and 10,500 MVA of transformation capacity over a 30-month execution timeline. Together, the dual investments emphasize how private capital is actively building the digital and clean-energy backbone required for India’s next industrial decade.
