The Future of Urban Air Mobility in India

The ePlane Company, a pioneering Indian startup focused on electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing (eVTOL) technology, is in the final stages of raising $40-50 million in a Series C funding round. This significant capital injection will accelerate the development and certification of their compact electric drone taxis.

Versatile Use Cases: Cargo, Taxis, and Ambulances

The ePlane’s design is highly versatile, targeting severe urban congestion. The funding will support three primary verticals: rapid intra-city cargo logistics, passenger air taxis capable of drastically reducing commute times, and a critical air ambulance service that can navigate dense traffic to save lives during medical emergencies.

Road to Commercialization

With this new funding, ePlane plans to finalize its full-scale prototype, advance through rigorous regulatory testing with the DGCA, and establish initial manufacturing capabilities. Commercial rollout is aggressively targeted within the next few years, positioning India at the forefront of the global eVTOL race.
