Flipkart Leads India Shopping Scene with 85M DAUs: Amazon India Trails at 60M

Flipkart Consolidates Volume Dominance in Tier-2 and Tier-3 Indian Markets

The battle for India’s digital retail landscape has reached a decisive phase. According to recent Sensor Tower data, Walmart-owned Flipkart leads the shopping application segment with approximately 85 million Daily Active Users (DAUs). Social commerce player Meesho has claimed the second spot with 70 million DAUs, leaving Amazon India trailing in third place with just over 60 million DAUs. Flipkart’s fashion arm, Myntra, has also shown significant strength, registering 21 million DAUs compared to Ajio’s 6–7 million.

Market Share Dynamics and Segment Division

In terms of overall market share, Flipkart Group maintains its leadership position at 32% to 48%, while Amazon India is estimated to hold between 27% and 35%. While Amazon India remains highly dominant in premium, urban sectors such as high-end electronics and home goods via its Prime subscription service, Flipkart has successfully secured volume-driven sectors like fashion, lifestyle, and budget smartphones, particularly in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities across the country.
