1,000 Trillion Won Committed to Secure Global AI Supply Chain Leadership
In the largest corporate investment commitment in South Korea’s history, Samsung Group announced a massive 1,000 trillion won (approximately $648 billion) capital expenditure plan spanning the next decade. The initiative is designed to secure Samsung’s role at the heart of the global AI supply chain, focusing on advanced manufacturing and computing infrastructure.

Broad Allocation Across Data Centers, Chip Fabs, and Battery Tech
The investment plan allocates 350 trillion won (~$227 billion) for AI data centers and 300 trillion won for new semiconductor fabrication plants outside the Seoul metropolitan area to encourage balanced regional development. The remaining funds will support next-generation battery technology, advanced displays, and advanced substrates to maintain technological leadership.
