Digital Streaming Platform Reaches Financial Milestone
Zee Entertainment Enterprises has announced that its digital streaming platform, ZEE5, achieved EBITDA breakeven for the full fiscal year 2025-26. The milestone marks a major step for the platform, which had previously operated at a loss during its initial growth and content expansion phase.
The turnaround was driven by a 53% year-on-year increase in revenue, which reached ₹14,888 million for the fiscal year. This revenue growth was supported by steady subscription additions and improved advertising monetization, enabling ZEE5 to deliver positive operating profit for two consecutive quarters at the end of the year.

Focus on Regional Content and Cost Control
Management attributed the improvement in unit economics to a focused content strategy and disciplined operational cost management. ZEE5 released over 120 shows and movies during the year, emphasizing regional Indian languages. By optimizing content production costs and reducing customer acquisition expenses, ZEE5 achieved profitability despite challenges in the broader television advertising market.
