QOSMIC to Accelerate Laser-Based Satellite Communication Stack
Bengaluru-based spacetech startup QOSMIC has secured $3.33 million in seed funding. The investment round was led by Accel and Prosus Ventures, with participation from South Park Commons, ARTPARK (IISc Bangalore), and Manish Jain. Founded in 2025 by Shreyaans Jain, Rohit Ramakrishnan, and Aloke Kumar, the company is building an end-to-end optical (laser-based) communication system to replace traditional radio frequency (RF) systems on satellites.

Achieving TRL6 and Strategic Partnership with TakeMe2Space
QOSMIC’s laser-based transmission technology promises up to 100x higher bandwidth and lower power consumption compared to RF. Having successfully demonstrated its Technology Readiness Level 6 (TRL6) on a 10km terrestrial link, the startup is using the funding to finalize payload integration and has partnered with TakeMe2Space for orbital testing and commercial deployment in late 2026.
