Anushka Sharma Joins Capital Round for Agilitas Sports
Sportswear and athletic footwear manufacturing startup Agilitas Sports has secured an undisclosed investment from actor and entrepreneur Anushka Sharma. The investment follows a previous capital commitment from cricketer Virat Kohli, who backed the brand during its initial funding rounds, highlighting growing celebrity interest in domestic sportswear manufacturing platforms.
Agilitas Sports, co-founded by former Puma India managing director Abhishek Ganguly, operates as an end-to-end design, manufacturing, and retail platform. The company recently acquired prominent sports footwear manufacturer Mochiko Shoes, which fabricates products for major international brands. Agilitas plans to launch its own athletic brand, focusing on localized fit and design for the Indian consumer.

Manufacturing Capital and Brand Launch Strategy
The startup will utilize the capital to expand its manufacturing facilities in Dehradun and Noida, upgrading machinery to support international quality standards. The company aims to benefit from the government’s Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for footwear. Industry experts suggest that having high-profile celebrity backers will help the startup build brand equity ahead of its retail launch in major metro markets.
